We are a family-owned Australian business, born in the quiet township of Berry on the New South Wales South Coast. Just ten minutes from the ocean, Berry sits between rolling green hills and an endless coastline—a place where country warmth and coastal calm exist in perfect harmony. That contrast became our greatest inspiration. The softness of the sea. The richness of the countryside. The stillness of early mornings. The warmth of afternoon light. What inspired us to start Lumina?
Lumina was created from a desire to redefine what designer sofas could be. We saw a gap between luxury furniture that was financially out of reach and mass-produced pieces that lacked personality. Pushing the boundaries of traditional sofas, our vision was to create a collection that offered next era design paired with premium quality at a price more people could enjoy. Born on the rolling landscapes of our south coast, where fertile farmland meets mountain ranges and rugged coastlines, life moves at a slower, more intentional pace. Our collections are designed to capture that same feeling of grounding. Creating pieces that bring a sense of calm, comfort and connection into the heart of peoples houses. Are our lounges comfortable?
Absolutely. Non-negotiably. Comfort was at the forefront of our design process. Our lounges have been thoughtfully designed with a medium-to-firm feel, offering supportive comfort while maintaining their designer shape and structure. This is paired with exceptionally soft, high-quality tactile finishes for a luxurious feel built to be lived in for many years.
How intentional is our design process?
At Lumina we take real pride in our carefully thought out production & design process. With a strong focus when it comes to producing smaller, carefully designed collections, we reduce overproduction while creating a sense of exclusivity for our customers. Unlike many sofa retailers that focus on volume, lumina focuses on intentional design. Every curve, fabric, and colour-way is inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds us. Rich chestnut tones echo freshly turned earth and rolling farmland, soft greens reflect the surrounding valleys, warm neutrals mirror sunlit coastlines, and deep textures evoke the rugged beauty of the escapement. Are they really full-sized?
Yes. It's hard to believe these lounges arrive compressed in a box when you see the finish result after the 72-hour period. Once unpacked, they expand beautifully into their full, generous proportions — giving you the look, feel and comfort of a full-sized designer lounge, without the bulk and inconvenience of traditional lounges.

Our Sofas are delivered in innovative compressed packaging, making designer inspired furniture easier to transport while significantly reducing shipping emissions and environmental impact.
Will the lounge slip on my floors?
no — our sofas are designed to hug the floor rather than sit above it. They feature a purpose-designed non-slip base with no traditional feet, creating a broad, grounded contact with your flooring.
And while they may arrive conveniently compressed in a box, they certainly aren't light-weight or flimsy once expanded. Our lounges have a substantial, supportive construction that gives them a solid, grounded feel.
